Man United news: Ralf Rangnick may have lied about secret Erik ten Hag talks after Sky reveal - pundit
Ralf Rangnick may have lied about not speaking to Erik ten Hag regarding the Man United job, according to Alan Hutton.
The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the pair will have held secret talks over the post.
Speaking to Sky Sports (2 May), Rangnick revealed he is still yet to speak to Ten Hag ahead of the 52-year-old’s arrival as the club’s permanent manager.
Manchester United confirmed the Dutchman would take charge from the summer last month.
Despite Rangnick’s claims of no contact, Hutton insisted the pair are likely to have spoken but are waiting until the season is over to hold more detailed conversations.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Possibly they have spoken and they want to keep everything in that house.

“I think you need to remember that Manchester United still have games left, Ajax still have games left. You don’t want to disrespect the club that you’re at by saying I’m thinking about somewhere else.
“You’ve still got a season to finish. It could be a little bit of that. That’s what I’d put it down to.
“Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter at this moment in time if they’ve not spoken.
“I think that the biggest thing will be as soon as the league campaigns have finished for both managers, then they can sit down and really go through and assess everything that’s going on.
“That will probably be the way forward, I would have thought.”
United, who currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, have two games left to play this season.
Meanwhile, Ajax currently top the Eredivisie table and are four points clear with three matches left.
