‘Man United players unhappy with Ruben Amorim’ – ‘Worrying’ verdict
Man United manager Ruben Amorim may now have upset his own players and compounded the situation following a 3-1 loss to Brighton, according to Michael Dawson.
The Red Devils lost to the Seagulls after goals from Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma, and Georginio Rutter, despite a penalty from Bruno Fernandes.
This defeat leaves United languishing in 13th place in the Premier League with 26 points, closer to the relegation zone than to securing a Champions League spot.
The Portuguese coach said in a post-match interview that his side could possibly be the “worst team maybe, in the history of Manchester United” [Premier League via X].
Former Tottenham and Hull City defender Dawson, speaking on Sky Sports, addressed their struggles and said players may be “unhappy” with his comments.
He said: “I’m not so sure I’d be very happy if my manager came out and said I was part of the worst Manchester United [team in] history.
“I understand what he’s trying to do, but this has become embarrassing. If you’re part of that dressing room, and we’re talking about confidence with Spurs, and I watch them against Southampton in midweek when Amad gets a hat-trick. It was covering up the cracks”.
He continued, “It sounds like it was another damaging defeat and this is worrying because Ruben Amorim knew he had a big job on his hands. I’m not too sure we knew it was this big”.
Man United continue to struggle amid mounting fan frustration
Football Insider Verdict
Amorim’s side have endured a challenging season, with poor form leading to fans venting their frustrations at players, including Noussair Mazraoui.
The situation could have been even worse during their latest outing, as a Brighton goal was controversially disallowed, sparing them further embarrassment.

Recent results don’t paint a promising picture for Amorim or his squad, with five losses in their last eight matches.
The inconsistency is especially glaring as the team has shown their capabilities on big occasions, including a victory over Man City and a hard-fought draw at Anfield earlier in the season.
However, the real struggle seems to come against teams in and around mid-table. These matches continue to expose the team’s vulnerabilities and contribute to their faltering league campaign.
Their next fixture is a Europa League clash against Rangers, which could determine which of the two sides secures an automatic place in the Round of 16.
