Man United: Sir Dave Brailsford exit confirmed as official paperwork filed
Manchester United have confirmed Sir Dave Brailsford has left his role as a director at Old Trafford.
A Companies House submission on Thursday (7 May) revealed Brailsford’s position on Man United’s board has now been officially terminated.
The 62-year-old was handed a leadership role at Old Trafford after close ally Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over the Premier League club’s footballing operations in February 2024.
It was then revealed last summer Brailsford had relinquished his day-to-day role with the Manchester giants to act as director of sport for INEOS.
He did, however, remain on Man United’s board, but the latest filing confirms he stepped away on 30 April.

Brailsford took on an active role in the early days of Ratcliffe’s time in charge of the footballing operations.
The former director was involved in the process to appoint Ruben Amorim as manager and Omar Berrada as chief executive.

However, Brailsford’s influence diminished after Jason Wilcox was named as director of football last summer, having initially joined as technical director in April 2024.
Ratcliffe has overseen multiple changes at the leadership level over the past two years as he looks to put the pieces in place for future success.
Man United have made more than 450 members of staff redundant during that period, with several senior figures moving on behind the scenes.
Dan Ashworth was one of the highest-profile exits after he was axed just five months after joining as sporting director from Newcastle United.
Why Michael Carrick is in line to land Man United job permanently
Following a challenging few years on the pitch, it appears as though matters are improving on that front at Old Trafford.
Man United have qualified for the Champions League after Michael Carrick has overseen a turnaround in performances since replacing Amorim as manager in January.

The former Old Trafford favourite is only contracted until the end of the season, but he is in a strong position to land the job on a permanent basis.
Carrick has won 10 of his 14 games in charge since taking over, leaving his side sitting third in the Premier League table, six points clear of fourth-place Liverpool.
Man United’s next fixture sees them take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday (9 May).
