Man United stars 'delighted' to join Newcastle in January after update - pundit
Alex McLeish has insisted top-class players like Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek would be “delighted” to sign for Newcastle United.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims the ambition and potential of the Magpies will draw rival stars to Tyneside.
According to the Mirror (October 10th), Van de Beek, Lingard, Eric Bailly, and Anthony Martial are all on Newcastle’s radar.
Each of the four stars have had their individual struggles for game time at Old Trafford this season.
On October 7th, the Premier League confirmed that Mike Ashley had successfully sold Newcastle to a Saudi-backed consortium.
The takeover deal, fronted by businesswoman Amanda Staveley, was for a reported £305million.

McLeish believes there will be a plethora of players queuing up to join “sleeping giants” Newcastle.
He suggested the Manchester United quartet will have no qualms about swapping Old Trafford for St James’ Park.
“I think a lot of players will have an interest in going to Newcastle,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“They’ll see the ambition and the sleeping giant status that everyone talks about.
“I think these players linked with Newcastle would be delighted to join a project like that.”
Newcastle have also launched the search for a new manager to replace Steve Bruce.
Football Insider exclusively revealed they were working on a “dream ticket” move for Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers.
However, Bruce is to remain in charge for this weekend’s game against Tottenham.
Newcastle currently sit in the relegation zone with just three points.
They are yet to win after seven league games this term.
