Medical expert names Pogba’s comeback date after ‘big’ Man United training ground reveal

Man United superstar Paul Pogba will be reintroduced to the matchday squad immediately after the winter break.

That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.

Pogba has not played for United since October last year after picking up a severe hamstring injury while away on international duty with France.

The 28-year-old is now back in first-team training at Carrington.

Per the Manchester Evening News last Wednesday (19 January), Ralf Rangnick revealed: “What I saw [from Pogba] in training yesterday was very promising.”

Dinnery predicts Pogba could play a role when United face Middlesbrough in the FA Cup in their first match after the break on 4 February.

“After the winter break, he should be fairly well placed to return to that matchday squad,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“I didn’t think it was a great surprise that we haven’t seen him in these last few games, but it’s a big plus to see him doing well in training.

“As long as that return to training continues to go well, he’s going to be around two or two-and-a-half weeks.

“He’s got good baseline levels of fitness, so I’d expect him to be reintroduced to that matchday squad after that winter break.”

Pogba is out of contract at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

He has laid on seven assists in his nine league appearances this term.
