Man United to announce Amad Diallo deal imminently – sources
Man United are advancing in talks over a new contract for Amad Diallo and could reach a deal before the end of the month, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say an agreement is not far off and the remaining talks are expected to be a formality after United made it their priority to extend his current deal.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 5 December that the 22-year-old had begun talks over a new deal after impressing Ruben Amorim.
Diallo has established himself as a key player under the new boss, and his upturn in performances were rewarded as he scored the winner v Man City in the Manchester Derby.
In fact, since Amorim’s arrival, the Ivory Coast international has started five of his seven games, scored one goal and provided four assists.
His current deal is set to expire in 2025, although United reserved the option to extend the terms by one year and were expected to do so in January.
However, the decision was made to reward his recent form with the offer of a new deal which better reflects how highly he is valued in the squad.
Man United set to agree new contract for Amad Diallo
Since Amorim’s arrival, the boss has been trying to nail down his first-choice starting XI at Old Trafford and has experienced some difficulty in doing so.
Diallo, however, has stepped up amid plenty of expectation and proven himself as a reliable option for the boss as his game continues to go from strength to strength.
This is despite his fellow wingers Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho having struggled to adapt, as both were left out of the side to face City.
As a result, United are keen to reward the player while protecting their asset and ensuring his long-term future remains at Old Trafford.

Now, a deal is expected to be reached before the turn of the year in a massive boost to both United and Diallo, with the winger establishing himself as a firm favourite amongst fans.
