‘Man United to pay for Marcus Rashford to leave’: Exit latest
Marcus Rashford could have his wages covered by Man United as a January loan exit under such circumstances appears one of the only “possible” exit scenarios, as per BBC Sport.
The attacker has struggled again this season under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim and was left out of the squad for the Manchester derby on Sunday (15 December), attracting the ire of many.
In the wake of that, the 27-year-old indicated he is ready to move on after admitting it may be time for a “new challenge” (via Henry Winter).
Man United though may still have to fund some of that potential deal with it noted that only a small number of clubs could afford Rashford’s reported £300,000-per-week wages, and most of those appear not to be in a position to move for him.
There are said to be a variety of reasons why those sides aren’t in the market for a player such as the England international.
As a result it is suggested that a loan deal that sees the Red Devils continue to make a contribution to his wages is a possibility, although even that could be hampered by the club’s need to meet PSR limits.
Marcus Rashford future an issue for Man United
Football Insider Opinion
It seems that whatever happens, there is going to be something of a stumbling block for those at Old Trafford when it comes to Rashford.
If they do not let him go, then all this talk about him could become an unwelcome distraction at a time when Amorim is starting to show some early promise in the Old Trafford dugout.
On the opposite side to that, it is hard to see how Man United can move Rashford on without funding his wages, since there are very few clubs, if any, who might be able to do a deal if that does not happen.

Should that situation develop it would not be a great reflection on the running of the club since they would be paying one of their highest earners to play for another side.
Considering the recent criticism the club have come in for due to some of financial calls they have made, this would surely put more even pressure on Man United behind the scenes.
With all that in mind it does seem clear that the club have got themselves into a difficult position over Rashford’s future, that may not be easy to solve either way.
