Man United to sack Erik ten Hag – pundit
Manchester United will sack manager Erik ten Hag regardless of whether they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson insisted the Dutchman won’t be at Old Trafford next season as the new regime will want to appoint their own manager.
Man United can earn a place in the Europa League if they overcome their city rivals in the Wembley showdown this weekend after they finished eighth in the Premier League under the 54-year-old.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month Ten Hag is expected to be sacked by the Red Devils following their disappointing performances this season.
Man United could replace Erik ten Hag with Mauricio Pochettino
Robinson believes Man United should go in a “different direction” and appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager after Football Insider revealed the Argentine has emerged as a “serious and very interesting” option for the club after he left Chelsea by mutual consent earlier this week.
“Ten Hag is not going to be there next season,” he told Football Insider.
“I can’t see a way that he would be because of the way they are restructuring. He’s not their appointment.
“I think they have to go in a different direction because of how poor they have been this year. They have regressed in the last 12 months.
“You look at the problems with the recruitment and in the dressing room that he’s had this year.

“They might surprise us all by going and winning the FA Cup and earning a Europa League place. But I still don’t think that will keep him his job.
“Now is the time for Manchester United to go and get Pochettino.
“They have a perfect opportunity after being long-term admirers of him.”
