Man United: Tyrell Malacia set for summer exit after Michael Carrick ‘green light’
Manchester United are planning to accept offers for Tyrell Malacia in the summer transfer window after doubts emerged over his long-term suitability.
The 26-year-old made his first appearance under Michael Carrick as a late substitute in their late 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United last weekend.
He was then named on the bench again for the clash with Aston Villa, although the manager has now lost faith in his ability to become a regular feature.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Carrick is keen to upgrade at left-back and could let Malacia leave as a result.
A lot will depend on who the next manager is at Old Trafford, but should they stick with Carrick, he is already making plans for a busy transfer window at Man United.

Football Insider revealed last summer that Man United were keen to sell Malacia, but no suitors emerged in the window’s closing stages.
He then looked set for a mid-season loan move to Besiktas, before he exit was blocked in the final stages following an injury to Patrick Dorgu.
Since then, he has held a place on Carrick’s bench, but his short cameo displays have done little to change the club’s mind over his long-term future.
“Man United didn’t play particularly well last week against Newcastle,” Brown told Football Insider.
“I didn’t understand the decision to bring Malacia on, it’s pretty much his only appearance this season, then they broke down his side and scored.
“From what I hear, he isn’t part of the plans long-term, so it made very little sense to bring him on. He’s not somebody Carrick is banking on.
“If they get an offer for him in the summer, I expect they’ll take it, and give the green light because he’s got Luke Shaw ahead of him and Harry Amass coming through as well.

“Plus Dorgu will return from injury, so they’re all options at left-back if you need them.
“It was just a strange one, I can’t see them keeping Malacia long-term, so I was surprised he’s been involved. Obviously he’s part of the squad, but I wouldn’t expect him to be playing.”
Who else could be set to leave Man United?
Malacia is not the only player being linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with a potential squad overhaul on the cards.
The imminent arrival of a new manager, or perhaps an extension of Carrick’s stay, could prove pivotal for a number of first-team stars.
One player who has been linked with a move away is Amad Diallo, although Football Insider revealed Man United will not sell Amad this summer.

The 23-year-old has been left out of the starting XI in recent clashes against Crystal Palace and Newcastle, leading to questions about his role in the side.
However, he returned to the side against Aston Villa, while his previous exclusion was purely tactical and he remains part of Carrick’s plans.
