Manchester United have no-brainer to accept Manuel Ugarte offer as Juventus eye summer swoop

Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte could be heading towards his final weeks in the Premier League as Juventus eye a summer deal for him.

The Uruguay international has emerged as a target for the Italian giants in recent days, after they previously made attempts to sign him while he was at Sporting CP earlier in his career.

Juventus will watch the 24-year-old first hand on Tuesday, as he is set to be involved for Uruguay in their clash against Algeria at their Allianz Stadium, according to Corriere Dello Sport.

The former PSG star has started just seven league games for the Red Devils so far this season, leaving many to speculate whether his future at Old Trafford could be in doubt ahead of next season.

Manchester United’s transfer plans are set to see at least one new midfielder targeted as part of their efforts to strengthen this summer, and they may now get the perfect chance to offload Ugarte.

Man United sure to accept any Manuel Ugarte offers

United are showing an interest in some huge targets to strengthen their midfield, with Sandro Tonali, Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton all linked with a move to Old Trafford of late.

There is also hope among the fans that the club could potentially even make a U-turn regarding Casemiro and decide to keep hold of him for another year at least.

However, with the likes of Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes also in the squad, it would be prudent for them to offload another midfielder if they bring in another big name.

Ugarte is surely the ideal candidate to be moved on, given the current interest and the lack of impact that he has made since his arrival.

Juventus’ interest is not yet at the stage where they are ready to make an offer for him, but if any teams were to come to the table with money on the table, it would surely make sense for United to accept a bid.

They paid an initial £42million to sign him back in 2024, and any bid remotely close to that figure would surely represent a good value sale.

Fans have already lost patience with Ugarte

United fans were seething with Ugarte’s performances throughout Ruben Amorim’s reign, and things haven’t improved for him at all since Michael Carrick took charge.

He hasn’t started a single game since the interim boss took the reins in the middle of January, and it has become increasingly clear that he isn’t fancied at all.

Carrick could be in line to get the manager’s job on a full-time basis next season, and that would surely increase the chances of Ugarte being shown the door even further.

Throw in the fact that the supporters lost patience with him months ago, and there is hardly anybody at Old Trafford who would protest if he was sold.

With that in mind, it is surely in United’s best interests for Juventus to step up and work towards a deal.
