Manuel Ugarte and Pedro Porro wowed by Marcus Edwards’ message

Marcus Edwards shared a message with supporters following Burnley’s confirmed promotion to the Premier League, capping off what’s been a standout loan spell since his arrival in January.

Burnley secured automatic promotion earlier in the week, whilst also confirming Leeds United’s return to the top flight after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sheffield United.

The result sparked celebrations across both clubs, with Edwards playing a key role in their strong finish to the campaign.

Since joining midway through the season, Edwards has impressed at Burnley with his pace and creativity, helping Burnley maintain their form in the crucial final stretch.

His deal was initially a loan move, but with promotion secured, there’s reportedly an obligation to make the transfer permanent. However, official confirmation of that clause being activated is still yet to be confirmed.

Their summer plans are already in motion, with Chelsea loanee Bashir Humphreys also expected to join Burnley permanently in a deal worth around £10 million through a similar obligation clause.

In the meantime, Edwards marked the occasion with a celebratory message for the fans, reflecting the joy and momentum surrounding Turf Moor ahead of their top-flight return.

Despite their celebrations, the club could lose a key figure this summer, with goalkeeper Trafford also attracting Premier League interest.

Football Insider revealed Newcastle United are preparing a move for Trafford after a standout campaign between the posts. His form has been instrumental in Burnley’s promotion, with the club boasting one of the best defensive records in the division.

However, Burnley are just one clean sheet away from matching the Football League record of 30 in a single season and remain in the hunt for the Championship title, offering further incentive for the rest of the campaign, as they prepare for top-flight football once again.
