COMMENTARY

Leeds United fans were alone in thinking their club had pulled off a blinder last summer when signing Barry Douglas from Wolves for £3million. Many observers were surprised Nuno had given the green light for the exit of such a key player in his club’s promotion campaign. After Douglas, a half-time substitute for Leeds today in their dramatic 3-2 win over Millwall, lost the ball deep in the London club’s half in the second period and Leeds were left wide open as they went behind for the second time, Whites were claiming their club had been robbed blind. Douglas has failed to win back his place in the starting XI since suffering his second muscle injury of the season in January. Marcelo Bielsa has subsequently put his faith in Ezgjan Alioski at left-back, as he did against Millwall, but turned to Douglas’ greater experience at half-time. Supporters were understandably fuming at the defender’s error, but his subsequent assist for Luke Ayling’s goal to make it 2-2 partly vindicated his substitution. Not that many Whites on Twitter had forgiven him:

In other Leeds United transfer news, it can be REVEALED the club have agreed a fee with rival club as deal is done to sign attacker ahead of summer window.
