Marc Cucurella may go on strike to force Man City move after new twist – pundit
Marc Cucurella may submit a transfer request at Brighton & Hove Albion to force through a move to Man City, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Cucurella will do everything he can to facilitate the transfer and may even stop turning up to Brighton training.
Football Insider first reported last month (22 June) that Man City had agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old but the two clubs are yet to agree a transfer fee.

The Athletic reported on Saturday (9 July) that Brighton have opened preliminary talks with the left-back’s representatives over a new deal.
His current contract still has four years left to run and it is claimed the Seagulls want £50million if they are to sell him this summer.
Asked whether Cucurella could be tempted by a new deal, Agbonlahor told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley: “Not at all.
“In his head he will be like ‘Don’t you dare offer me a new contract, let me go. I will put in a transfer request, I will not turn up’.
“If you’re at a club like Brighton and a club like Man City want you, you’ll do everything in your power to get out. It doesn’t matter how long you have been there.
“Man City are the Premier League champions, they are going to be in the Champions League. He’ll be dying for that move.
“He’ll want it to happen soon in case Man City move on to other targets.”

Cucurella only moved to Brighton last summer (2021) after they bought him for £15million from Getafe.
He played 35 times in the Premier League in 2021-22 and won the club’s player of the season award.
In other news, a “controversial” new Man City alliance is causing “absolute havoc”.
