Marcus Rashford and Steven Gerrard respond to major Aston Villa announcement
Marcus Rashford and Steven Gerrard both reacted to the latest exciting announcement emerging out of Aston Villa this summer.
Business has been very slow at Villa Park so far, with goalkeeper Marco Bizot being the only arrival from Brest, while Emi Martinez continues to be linked with Chelsea and Man United.
After missing out on Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season, supporters were expecting major changes from Unai Emery, but PSR appears to be playing a role.
Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Villa may yet have to sell Morgan Rogers, with Enzo Maresca’s side very interested in the playmaker, and Ollie Watkins and Ezri Konsa have also been linked with exits.
While it has been a major struggle for the Villans so far this summer, huge news has now emerged out of the club, with one of their star players putting pen to paper on a new deal until 2030.

Boubacar Kamara pens new terms at Aston Villa
Taking to Instagram (24 July), the official club account wrote: “Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Boubacar Kamara has signed a new contract with the club.
“The midfielder has agreed a deal that will keep him at Villa until 2030,” and the breaking news caught the attention of several big footballing names, including Barcelona‘s new signing Rashford and Gerrard.
Unai Emery requires multiple new signings
Football Insider verdict
Kamara’s contract announcement will be some of the best news for supporters in quite a few weeks, especially after Thomas Bramall’s howler against Man United on the final day of the season.
The Frenchman missed several matches last season through injury, and his absence was heavily felt in the middle of the park, so to see him agree to another five years is huge for the club.
Football Insider understands that Villa are also ready to rebuff offers for John McGinn amid interest from David Moyes’ Everton, and that will be a key move ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Keeping the likes of Rogers, Konsa, Jacob Ramsey, and Ollie Watkins will be of massive importance to the manager as well, though rumours continue to swirl around each of their futures in the Midlands.
PSR appears to be playing quite a big role in proceedings at Villa Park, with Bizot being the only arrival thus far, and that needs to change if the Villans are to improve on the success of last season.
Villa could be closing in on the signing of several young stars this summer, but that could also mean multiple high-profile exits to balance the books and make space in the squad.
