Marcus Rashford stuns in Aston Villa v Ipswich drama – ‘Unbelievable’

Aston Villa forward Marcus Rashford stunned a Sky Sports pundit with his contributions late on in the draw with Ipswich.

The Villains were only able to draw 1-1 with the Tractor Boys on Saturday (15 February), in spite of an Axel Tuanzebe red card in the first-half.

Liam Delap opened the scoring for Ipswich in the 56th minute, before January Arsenal transfer target, Ollie Watkins, replied in the 69th minute.

Marcus Rashford joined Aston Villa from Man United in January, and his performance against the Tractor Boys left Kris Boyd in disbelief.

The former Rangers striker said on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (4.53pm): “This is unbelievable from Marcus Rashford. [Ben] Johnson comes to him, he just nutmegs him, fires a ball across.

“Rogers gets across the front of the defender, gets a flick on it, hits the defender, it goes up, hits the goalkeeper and away for a corner kick.”

The United loanee was brought on at halftime by manager Unai Emery and was the best player on the pitch in the second half.

In 45 minutes, Rashford hit the post once, created four chances, completed 31 of 36 passes, and created one big chance for his side.

Ollie Watkins scored against Ipswich to give Aston Villa a point.

The English forward has been introduced slowly by Emery, but the Spanish manager will have no choice but to use his new signing as a starter, if he can maintain this form.

Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Aston Villa will be in a fight with rivals to keep Rashford in the summer, and on current viewing the Midlands side will have to pull out all the stops to keep the England international.

Aston Villa defensive woes continue with injury to Boubacar Kamara

Boubacar Kamara built an impressive partnership with Youri Tielemans last season, as the duo controlled games expertly, whilst providing world-class supply to forwards Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins.

However, Tyrone Mings suffered an injury against West Ham, forcing the Frenchman to be used in an unfamiliar role at centre-back.

Kamara was forced off in the 16th minute against Ipswich, and whilst Mings was on hand to replace his replacement, there will be concerns that the Villa captain is being rushed back, without adequate cover should he suffer another injury.
