Some recent comments by Rangers director director of football Mark Allen will have given fans food for thought ahead of the upcoming Steven Gerrard revolution.
Allen made the revelation to the official Gers website that the Ibrox side could be signing players until the transfer window closes at the end of August.
That would of course be weeks after the start of the league season and the Gers’ Europa League campaign.
If Gerrard and Allen are still making adjustments and tweaking their squad weeks into the new season it is perhaps an indication that the Gers might take a while to really get going.
Fans shouldn’t expect miracles from Gerrard and Allen in that case, as there is no doubt that it will take time for the Gers to take their place back at the top of Scottish football.
Teams sometimes take a while to become moulded in the image of their manager, and that could well be the case with Gerrard’s Rangers, especially if deals are still being done with players coming both in and out of the club.
Even though it is of vital importance that the Gers get off to a good start to the season, comments like the ones from Allen show that Gerrard will need time and patience until he has got the team he wants at Ibrox.
And as fans have bought into the Gerrard revolution so overwhelmingly, they should give him the time he needs to become a success at Ibrox.
