Mason Holgate has lauded his Everton teammates after they secured a 4-2 win over last season’s Premier League champions Leicester at Goodison Park.
In a match that saw both sides look to take home all three points, goals flew in at either end during the first half as the Toffees took a 3-2 lead into the break.
England Under-21 international Holgate posted on his personal Twitter account, claiming the result was a “good three points” as the Toffees look to close in on the top six.

Holgate saw out the entire 90 minutes from right-back, as he partnered Matthew Pennington, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines in defence.
The Toffees took the lead inside 30 seconds, as academy product Tom Davies struck from close range with his left foot after good play from Kevin Mirallas.

But Leicester reacted instantly, as Islam Slimani scored by nutmegging goalkeeper Joel Robles, before Marc Albrighton scored from a free-kick that found the top corner of Robles’ net.
Everton equalised in a topsy-turvy match through Romelu Lukaku, as he headed home Ross Barkley’s penetrative cross that drew praise from former Toffees captain Phil Neville.
Veteran defender Jagielka scored his second goal in two matches from a corner, before Lukaku pounced to score his 23rd league goal of the season after some slack Leicester defending.
