'Huge blow' - Exclusive: Liverpool rule out another 'Amazing' player tomorrow, ex-striker reacts

The absence of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson for their next two matches is an “absolutely huge blow”.

That is according to ex-Premier League striker Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “brilliant” Brazilian.

Jurgen Klopp revealed at his media conference earlier today that Alisson is out of tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth and next Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 decider against Atletico Madrid with a hip injury.

His absence comes as skipper Jordan Henderson is in a race against time to recover from a hamstring injury for the Anfield clash next midweek after already being ruled out of the Bournemouth match.

Whelan told Football Insider: “It’s an absolutely huge blow to lose Alisson. He’s amazing, not just the best keeper in the Premier League, he’s the best in the world.

“Adrian is experienced and a good keeper, but he doesn’t give the defence the same confidence as Alisson and he will be a massive miss, especially against Atletico.

“You look at Alisson and Henderson as two of Liverpool’s best players this season. Henderson’s leadership, commitment, fight has been really missed in the last few games and I’m sure Klopp would love to him him back for the Champions League.”

Alisson has been outstanding since signing for Liverpool from Roma in the summer of 2018.

He has conceded just 17 goals from 28 appearances in all competitions this season and only 51 strikes from 79 matches in total for the club.

In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that the club are opening talks on a £50million deal including bonuses for defender.
