Leeds United fell to a 4-3 defeat at Elland Road on Saturday and the Whites manager Thomas Christiansen did not hold back his disappointment during the post-match press conference.
Leeds suffered a disastrous first half performance and went in at the break two goals down after Aiden O’Brien and Lee Gregory had given Millwall the lead.
But the Whites came out from the interval a different side and a brace from Pierre-Michel Lasogga and one from Kemar Roofe gave Christiansen’s side the lead.
It wasn’t to be though, as Tom Elliot equalised and Jed Wallace scored a stoppage-time winner to condemn the Yorkshire club to their 11th loss of the season and drop to tenth in the Championship table.
“Maybe in the next game we need to start with 10 players,” the manager said post-match, highlighting the fact that his side played better without the full complement of players after Lee Cooper was shown a red card for a late challenge.
Christiansen also stated this Lasogga was “finished” by the time he came off and added, “I would rather play like shit and win. It’s all very nice – but no points.”
It was a chaotic game and not one that either defence would be able to claim bragging rights over.
The Whites are now three points off the play off spots and if they fail to pick up points away at Hull City in ten days time, they risk losing out on promotion
