Mbappe slammed for 'shouting his mouth off' after Liverpool source's update on mega-money deal - pundit

Frank McAvennie has hailed Mo Salah’s attitude over his Liverpool future and slammed Kylian Mbappe’s “poor example”.

The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest on the Reds attacker’s situation.

The Mirror’s David Maddock claimed on October 4th that talks over a renewal are complicated and a Liverpool source has told Football Insider the club want the deal done by the new year.

Salah, 29, has just under two years remaining on contract at Anfield.

Speaking to L’Equipe (4 October) Mbappe spoke about his future with his PSG deal set to expire next summer.

After several bids from Real Madrid this summer, Mbappe claimed “When I say leave, I’m talking about Real Madrid.”

McAvennie hailed Salah for not going to the press regarding his own future.

“Even though nothing is agreed, Salah has done the right thing,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There hasn’t been any talks that he’s unsettled or anything. But he’s still playing and what form he’s in. You love to see it.

“It’s chalk and cheese. Look at that idiot Mbappe. He’s shouting his mouth off to everyone now. It’s a poor example.

“I don’t know Salah personally but I get the impression he is a sound guy and he wouldn’t leave Liverpool high and dry.

“He’s a legend at that club now and they have to do everything to keep him there.”
