McAvennie: Buendia tells me Aston Villa will announce more signings this month
Frank McAvennie has predicted Aston Villa will make more signings before the end of the European Championship.
The former Villa hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the club are going about their transfer business in the right way.
Dean Smith’s side have already confirmed the capture of Norwich attacker Emi Buendia in a club-record deal.
On 7th June, Football Insider revealed the cost of Buendia’s transfer will be at least £57million.
Euro 2020 began on Friday, one year later than planned.
Major tournaments often see players burst onto the scene and earn transfers to a new side after impressing on the big stage.

However, McAvennie insists it will be easier for Villa to target players who did not go away with their country this summer.
He was also left stunned by Buendia’s fee and backed more Villa signings over the next few weeks.
“For that kind of money, you have to be a brilliant player,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They are going about their transfers the right way. It’s always harder when your players are away.
“Whether it’s the World Cup or the Euros or whatever. It will be the same next year too with the World Cup.
“There will be other players who they want to sign and it will be easier if they aren’t at the Euros.
“Then there’s a problem for the selling manager too. Do they sell their man before the Euros or hope he has a good few weeks and sell him for more?
“It’s fine if Villa want to sign players who aren’t at the Euros over the next few weeks.
“After the Buendia transfer, I wouldn’t be surprised. That transfer tells me there might be more this month.”
