Insider shares massive Rangers injury boost that fans will love

By Richard Parks

Ross McCrorie has returned to first-team training with Rangers as he closes in on a long-awaited comeback, according to a report.

The Gers fans blog Four Lads Had a Dream, which has emerged in recent months as a very reliable source of news surrounding the club, reported on Tuesday afternoon on their Twitter account that the teenage sensation is back in full training.

McCrorie, 19, has been sidelined with a foot injury since the Old Firm draw against Celtic on 30 December.

He has missed Rangers’ last 12 matches with the problem, which has been more serious than initially expected.

He is now expected to be in contention for the Light Blues’ Scottish Premiership trip to Motherwell on Saturday.

Football Insider verdict:

What a huge boost for Rangers that McCrorie is finally back in full training. The return of the immensely popular Ibrox academy product will be widely welcomed by supporters who regarded him as one of the team’s best players in the opening half of the season. McCrorie has made 18 first team appearances in his breakthrough campaign, initially at centre-back and then in a midfield anchorman role. Should he regain top fitness, it is only a matter of time before he is back in the matchday 18, and then the starting XI. He is that good.
