McLeish makes 'mind-boggling' Grealish-Aston Villa transfer claim after Tuesday development
Alex McLeish has suggested Aston Villa could ramp up Jack Grealish’s price tag after his “outstanding” displays for England.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Villa boss suggested his old side could demand a “mind-boggling” fee for the 25-year-old.
The Daily Mail (June 25th) claim Manchester City are confident of striking a £100million deal for the Villans’ talisman.
The boyhood Villa star caught the eye with a game-changing performance for England in Tuesday’s win over Germany.
Grealish came off the bench and played a key role in Raheem Sterling’s opener before he delivered the cross for Harry Kane to head home the second.
McLeish insisted the playmaker’s performances would only increase interest in his signing.

However, he suggested his impressive form would see Villa demand a higher price tag.
“It seems that it’s heating up with every minute he plays in that England team in these championships,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“The contribution he made when he came on as a substitute was absolutely outstanding. I think it’s taken his fee up. A brilliant young player.
“Of course the numbers these days are mind-boggling.
“If guys like Haaland and that are going for £100million, we’ve got to think that our young players in the UK, especially the Premier League, in England are worth that with England getting to the final reaches of the competition.”
Grealish has contributed two assists in three appearances at the Euros.
However, his only start came in the 2-0 win over the Czech Republic.
