McLeish: Rangers could be about to make it 'impossible' for Postecoglou at Celtic
Alex McLeish has claimed Rangers are in a “tremendously strong position” to make it “impossible” for Celtic to mount a title challenge.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland manager insisted Hoops fans need to have patience with Ange Postecoglou during the club’s “rebuilding process”.
Speaking after Thursday’s 4-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, as quoted by the Scottish Sun, Postecoglou insisted he would not change his approach despite a disappointing start to the season.
He admitted the process “takes time” but stated he is committed to building a certain style at Parkhead.
Celtic currently sit sixth in the Premiership table, six points adrift of Rangers in first.
McLeish compared Postecoglou’s situation at Celtic to that of Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.

As quoted by BBC Sport (22nd September), the Barca boss read a statement claiming the club are in a “situation of rebuilding”.
“He (Postecoglou) is in a kind of rebuilding process,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“He’s in a similar situation, a wee bit, to Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.
“He’s come out and said that this is a rebuild and you will have to be patient.
“How long the fans will wait then it’s anybody’s guess. He’s saying it before the horse has bolted. We’ve got to see that with Postecoglou as well.
“Rangers are in a tremendously strong position to accelerate and put the foot on the gas and make it impossible for Celtic this season.”
Celtic currently sit bottom of their Europa League group after suffering two defeats.
Their next game sees them visit Aberdeen on Sunday.
