McLeish tells Robby McCrorie to leave Rangers after ‘bad news’ out of Ibrox
Robby McCrorie must leave Rangers if he won’t be playing regular first-team football next season.
That’s according to former Gers boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 24-year-old’s future.
On Monday (20 June), Rangers announced veteran goalkeeper Allan McGregor had put pen to paper on a new one-year deal at Ibrox.

On Wednesday (22 June) The Glasgow Times reported McCrorie wants to avoid another season of sitting on the bench and is open to leaving the club.
According to The Sun (18 June), new Man United manager Erik ten Hag is interested in luring McCrorie away from Rangers.
McLeish insists the stopper should leave following McGregor’s new deal.
“For one bit of good news there is bad news,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild
“One of the youngsters feels that he isn’t going to be able to make the progress he wants to because Allan is staying on.
“The thing is, Robbie is still to reach that high level. If he has to leave to do that then he absolutely should.
“It’s a short career and you have to deal with the rest of your life after you finish. Goalies last a lot longer than outfield players but for me he has to go and get himself a club where he can start every week.
“If the manager and coaching staff feel he is someone they can’t let go then that’s a good sign for Robbie but if he isn’t going to play regularly then that’s that.

McCrorie has made two senior appearances for Rangers.
HIs only league appearance came in 29 August 2021’s 1-0 win over Celtic.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed Rangers will be ‘delighted’ by boardroom triumph as controversial deal struck.
