Nottingham Forest have agreed to sign Fulham defender Cyrus Christie on loan, Football Insider understands.
The Championship outfit have booked the right-back, 27, in for a medical and he is set arrive at the City Ground to complete the formalities of the transfer.
A Fulham source has told Football Insider that the club have given the green light for Christie to head to Forest for the campaign.
The defender was a mainstay of the Cottagers’ side that won promotion to the Premier League last season.
He made 18 starts among 30 appearances in all competitions, featuring in the play-off final as well as starting both semi-final clashes.
But Parker completed the £3million signing of Holland international Kenny Tete last week and this has paved the way for the temporary exit of Christie.
The 24-times Republic of Ireland international may have played his last game for Fulham as his contract is due to expire next summer.
Christie began his career at Coventry City after graduating from their youth ranks before joining Derby County in 2014 and then Middlesbrough in January 2018.
He has played 67 times for Fulham in all competitions, with 28 of those outings coming in the Premier League during their 2018-19 campaign.
Christie can operate as a conventional right-back or as a right wing-back, and is in line to be the first choice at Forest.
In Sabri Lamouchi’s side, Jordan Gabriel has played the first two games of the season at right-back.
Carl Jenkinson, Tendayi Darikwa and Jayden Richardson are all still on the club’s books.
