Medical underway: Williams finalises transfer to Cardiff City - Sources
Charlton Athletic midfielder Jonny Williams is undergoing medical at Cardiff City now, Football Insider can reveal.
The 27-year-old is out of contract in the summer and the Bluebirds are set to capitalise.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Williams is having a medical ahead of completing a deadline day move to the Welsh capital.
Cardiff City boss Mick McCarthy is a big admirer of the Wales international, having signed him on loan twice during his time at Ipswich Town.
This site revealed yesterday that the Championship club had opened talks with Charlton Athletic over a deal for the midfielder.
A graduate of Crystal Palace’s academy, Williams made 70 appearances for the Eagles in an eight-year spell at Selhurst Park.

Loan spells at Ipswich, Nottingham Forest, MK Dons and Sunderland were followed by a permanent move to Charlton in January 2019.
Williams‘ 66 appearances across all competitions for Lee Bowyer’s side have yielded two goals and six assists.
He has been a regular feature of a League One side that has experienced both promotion and relegation over the past two seasons.
The attacking midfielder, who has been capped 21-times by Wales, is set to become Mick McCarthy’s first signing as Cardiff boss after he succeeded Neil Harris earlier this month.
McCarthy will be looking for the midfielder to bring some much needed experience to a Bluebirds side struggling at the wrong end of the table.
The Welsh side are 15th in the Championship and without a win in eight games across all competitions.
