Micheal Owen has stated the “noises” he has heard coming out of Liverpool suggest that Philippe Coutinho will be fit for the Southampton clash on Sunday afternoon at Anfield.
The 24-year-old was forced off injured with a dead leg during his side’s 1-0 win at Watford on Monday night.
Coutinho lasted only 13 minutes during that match as a clash of knees with Adrian Mariappa ended his night early.
Without him, the Reds went on to clinch all three points thanks to a sublime bicycle kick by Emre Can.
Former Premier League striker Owen backed Adam Lallana to score against his former club at the weekend as he stated what he has heard about Liverpool’s key man ahead of the game.

“I thought Adam Lallana looked sharp when he came on for Philippe Coutinho at Vicarage Road on Monday and the England midfielder will be fresher than most against his old club,” Owen told Bet Victor.
“The noises coming out of Anfield suggest Coutinho is expected to have recovered from his dead leg in time for Sunday’s game and I expect to see the Reds maintain their push for a coveted Champions League spot.”
Three points will be a massive boost for Jurgen Klopp’s side in their quest to finish in a Champions League places at the end of the season.
They are currently sitting third in the table on 69 points from their 35 matches, three points ahead of fourth-placed Manchester City and four points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United.
Coutinho has been a key figure for them during his injury-hit campaign, scoring ten goals and supplying six assists in 28 Premier League matches.
Added to that, in his last six league games, he has scored four goals and supplied one assist and that includes the match against Watford where he played only 13 minutes of football.
