Mick Quinn delivers verdict on Newcastle loss v Ipswich, questions this Benitez decision
By Matt Farr
Newcastle favourite Mick Quinn has questioned Rafa Benitez’s decision to make five changes to his side following the 3-1 defeat to Ipswich on Monday.
Quinn took to his personal Twitter account after the game to deliver his verdict on the result, and urged his former club to ‘dig deep’ and ‘believe’ ahead of the final few games of the season.

Benitez had elected to drop Chancel Mbemba, Vurnon Anita, Ayoze Perez, Yoan Gouffran and Aleksandar Mitrovic from his starting eleven, following the 1-1 draw with Leeds on Friday.
Instead, the Magpies chief entrusted DeAndre Yedlin, Mo Diame, Christian Atsu, Grant Hanley and Daryl Murphy with key roles against Ipswich, but his changes had little effect.
Atsu showed glimpses of class out on the left-wing, providing a superb assist for Newcastle’s single goal, which was converted by Murphy on his return to his former club.

The result saw Newcastle fall seven points behind rivals Brighton in the Championship title race, but they still boast a strong position in the bid to win automatic promotion to the Premier League for next season.
However, their sub-standard display against Ipswich at Portman Road added unwanted frustrations into the end of season run-in, having conceded three sloppy goals and offered little in response.
Newcastle are now without a win in their last two Championship outings, and have won just two of their last seven matches.
Their remaining three games of the season see them go up against mid-table trio Preston, Cardiff and Barnsley.
In other Newcastle news, fans have ripped into this defender for his woeful display against Ipswich.
