Non-league midfielder Kurtis Cumberbatch has expressed his delight on Instagram with a brilliant message hailing a newspaper after it was reported that Nottingham Forest are interested in signing him.

The Daily Mail reported that Forest along with a number of other Football League clubs are keeping an eye on the Harrow Borough player.

The 21-year-old currently plays outside of the Football League and has scored six goals for his club since joining in January.

It is said that League One duo Bristol Rovers and Oxford United are the other interested parties in the former Watford man.

After news of Forest’s interest broke, Cumberbatch sent this message to his followers, which was posted on his personal Instagram account.

“Nice to get some coverage from the Daily Mail,” said Cumberbatch. “Check bio for full link,” as the youngster then seemed eager to spread the news of his interest.

Forest are currently managed by former Rangers boss Mark Warburton who helped them survive relegation on the last day of the Championship season.

Added to that, Greek businessman Evangelos Marinakis recently purchased the struggling Midlands club from the controversial Fawaz Al-Hasawi.

Football Insider verdict:

Not the name that Forest fans will be wanting to hear when reading about the players their club could be signing over the summer. It is an important few months for Warburton and the club. After years of struggle, fans will be hoping the new management and board can guide them into the right direction. Signing big name players or those with experience will be on their wishlist going into next season’s campaign.
