Mignolet delivers Twitter verdict after Liverpool win v Watford

By Dominic Toner

Simon Mignolet has hailed Liverpool’s away victory over Watford as getting the job done and picked out Emre Can for his crucial performance.

The 23-year-old midfielder turned out to be the match winner with a spectacular goal on the stroke of half-time.

Can scored a sensational bicycle kick in the penalty and it will surely be in the running for the goal of the season.

The in-form midfielder has been a major player for Jurgen Klopp’s side in recent weeks as they look to secure a top-four position in the Premier League.

Mignolet has revealed his delight on social media following the victory as the Reds continued their push for a Champions League spot.

“We did what we had to do, apart from Emre Can who did just a bit more,” Mignolet wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Mignolet has been another top performer recently for the Merseyside club and has established himself as the number one option.

The Belgian goalkeeper has endured mixed spells this campaign and has had to watch teammate Loris Karius start ahead of him at times.

However, Mignolet has been the preferred option in 2017 and has been able to convince manager Klopp to start him in every Premier League game.

Several Liverpool fans feel they need a new number one shot stopper for next season, but the 29-year-old will hope he has proven himself to be a good enough option going forward.
