Mikel Merino shares training ground update after surprise new Arsenal role
Arsenal star Mikel Merino took to social media to share a training ground update after his surprise role in their 2-0 Premier League win over Leicester on Saturday (February 15).
The 28-year-old replaced struggling forward Raheem Sterling in the 69th minute to score a brace and secure a much-needed win for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Arsenal are currently without five first-team players, including forward Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, for extended periods, with Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz also out for the rest of the season.
The North London club remain within touching distance of Premier League leaders Liverpool, however, sitting in second with 53 points from their 25 games, seven behind Arne Slot’s side.

Many Arsenal fans believe Merino could be the solution to their ongoing injury issues, and believe he could be somewhat of a ‘hidden gem.’
