Mills: Bielsa tipped to bin Alioski as telling Leeds pictures emerge
Danny Mills has claimed Ezgjan Alioski is unlikely to sign a new contract with Leeds United as pre-season training gets underway.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender suggested Marcelo Bielsa will not be happy with the protracted nature of talks.
Leeds returned to pre-season training at the beginning of the month and Alioski was nowhere to be seen in videos and pictures posted to the club’s Twitter account.
Football Insider learned today (3 June) that Leeds are set to complete a deal for Junior Firpo as he jets into England to undergo a medical.
And Mills has suggested the defender’s presence could mean Alioski will look to move on.
“He’s not been in pre-season training so you start to think the longer it goes on the more likely it is he won’t sign,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Having said that, Messi’s a free agent at the moment.
“The longer it goes on and with other players potentially coming in you start to think ‘Maybe that opportunity is going to pass if he doesn’t sign it soon.’
“We know what Bielsa’s like, ‘You’re either part of this or you move on.’
“If they weren’t going to sign somebody he might think ‘Ok, I’m going to play regularly.’ But if they sign someone he might think ‘I’m not going to play and it’s not quite the money that I want so actually I’ll go elsewhere.”
Leeds confirmed in their retained list on 27 May that Alioski had been offered a new contract.
Football Insider then learned on 4 June that they had submitted an improved offer to the North Macedonia international.
In other news, Leeds United have sealed a deal worth £20m+ in fee and wages.
