Danny Mills claimed that “plenty of clubs” will be interested in signing Michail Antonio as the West Ham attacker enters the last 12 months of his contract.
The former Leeds and Manchester City defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, raved about the 30-year-old who he suggested would be an asset to any Premier League squad.
This weekend he scored his first career hat-trick and grabbed all four goals as the Hammers thrashed Norwich City 4-0 at Carrow Road.
Football Insider understands that the Hammers are set to offer Antonio a new deal that could keep him at the club until he is 33.
Mills heaped praise on the forward for his versatility and ability.
“I am sure there are plenty of clubs interested, without a shadow of a doubt,” he told Football Insider.
“He has pace, power and lots of ability. He can score a goal and his work rate is exceptional.
“He is a magnificent all-round player who will give you everything week in, week out no matter where he plays. Why would you not want a player of that ilk in your squad?”
David Moyes, when quizzed on the player’s contract situation, said: “Maybe at the end of the season it will be something we will look at.”
In other West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that Moyes wants to bin Manuel Pellegrini signing he does not trust.
