Mills: 'Fierce' Tottenham man and senior star giving Leeds the fear ahead of Sunday

Leeds United will be most fearing “fierce” Antonio Conte and reborn Harry Kane ahead of Sunday’s showdown at Tottenham.

That is the view of ex-Whites and England defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider ahead of Conte’s first home Premier League game in charge of Spurs.

Leeds travel to north London on the back of their longest unbeaten run of the season while Conte is looking for his first top-flight win at Spurs after their 0-0 draw with Everton before the international break.

As quoted by football.london at his pre-game press conference, the Italian revealed

“Leeds had a couple of decent results before the international break and now they’ve got to make sure they kick on from there,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“That’s going to be the key, that’s what they’ve got to do. They can’t let those three results just be a few good results they’ve really got to take that on.

“Against Tottenham, it’s not going to be easy. They’ve got their new manager in and Harry Kane is coming in on the back of seven goals at international level.

“Leeds are going to have to be right at on Sunday afternoon.

“I think we’ll see how a harder working, more dynamic Tottenham than we have in recent weeks and recent months.

“Players will want to impress the new manager. He’s a fierce operator and has really high standards in the way he wants things to be done.

“The energy levels will be better and they know they will have to match Leeds. It will be a tough game because Tottenham still have quality players throughout their squad.

“Conte may not have had too much time to work on them but what he has got is that new manager bounce, that feeling of ‘If we don’t do this, we’re out of the team’.”

In other news, a Leeds United star has been given the all-clear to make his long-awaited comeback against Tottenham.
