Mills: Jack may force Gerrard into Rangers transfer U-turn after 'behind the scenes' reveal via Sky
Ryan Jack’s return from injury may be making Steven Gerrard re-think his Rangers transfer plans, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Manchester City and England defender delivered his verdict after an update on the midfielder’s fitness.
Jack suffered a calf injury and missed the final months of last season as Rangers secured a historic 55th league title.
He was forced to have surgery on the issue that ruled him out for Scotland at the European Championships.
However, the 28-year-old told Sky Sports he will have fully recovered in time work the 2021-22 campaign begins.
“This time of the year, it’s all about players who were injured getting over the injuries and getting ready for the new season,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It’s also about getting your recruitment right and having your plan laid out for the season. You’ll have one or two options to bring players in.
“That’s what Steven Gerrard will be thinking about over the course of the summer. ‘The players that are injured, how far away are they to returning to full fitness? Who can I bring in, in that situation? Who can make our team better?’
“It’s called the ‘off-season’ but it’s not really because behind the scenes, so much is going on.
“You’ve only got until the end of August to get your business done and with the Euros it’s all very congested.
“It’s about now and getting the players back fit and the recruitment right for the now, ready for the business end of the season.”
