Mills lauds ‘brilliant’ Aston Villa amid confirmed transfer update
Danny Mills has heaped praise on Aston Villa for their “brilliant” transfer business this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England international claimed the club were “very clever” in the way they concluded a lot of deals prior to the departure of Jack Grealish.
As quoted by by club media on August 20th, Dean Smith suggested Villa’s summer business has been concluded when he said he is “comfortable” with his squad.

Danny Ings, Leon Bailey, Axel Tuanzebe, Ashley Young and Emiliano Buendia have all come through the door for less than the £100million received from the sale of Jack Grealish to Man City.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley for his assessment of Villa’s window, Mills said: “I think they have done some brilliant business.
“They were very clever in the way they operated.
“Clearly they knew the money for Jack Grealish was coming in so they went and did their business early to avoid a situation where everybody knows they have cash and the fees go up by £5-10million.
“What Villa did was shrewd and sensible.
“On the opening day of the season you get strange results. Realistically Villa will be hoping to finish anywhere between sixth and 12th and I can see that happening.”
The Claret and Blue currently sit 10th in the table after they recovered from an opening day defeat at Watford to beat Newcastle 2-0 on Saturday.
They welcome Brentford to Villa Park next Saturday prior to the international break.
