Mills verdict on Leeds signing Brownhill after reported reveal
Josh Brownhill would not improve the Leeds United starting XI, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender suggested Victor Orta will find it difficult to sign players ready to walk straight into Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
TeamTALK reported on 18 August the Yorkshire giants have made enquiries over Burnely midfielder Brownhill.
It is claimed the Clarets will demand a £15million fee for the Englishman.
The 25-year-old moved to Turf Moor in January 2020 and he has now played 45 times in the Premier League.
Leeds are in the market for cover and competition for Kalvin Phillips this summer.

Football Insider revealed on 18 August they have made a fresh bid for Huddersfield Town’s Lewis O’Brien.
This site broke the news on 13 August the 22-year-old is keen on a move across Yorkshire to Elland Road.
Asked for his assessment of Brownhill, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I’m not convinced he’s better than what Leeds have got already.
“Maybe this is Leeds’ problem. You don’t need squad players, you need players that are going to improve the first XI and players you’ve already got.
“They have been fantastic at that over the past couple of seasons. The players that can now do that are very expensive.”
Bielsa revealed in a press conference last week (19 August) it is unlikely the Yorkshire giants will add to their squad before the transfer window closes.
The Argentine has only added Junior Firpo to the squad that finished ninth in the Premier League last term.
