Danny Mills has tipped Mateusz Klich to not make the Leeds United squad for their clash with Sheffield United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender insisted Marcelo Bielsa will not risk anybody who is not 100 per cent fit.
Klich tested positive for coronavirus at the beginning of the international break and Marcelo Bielsa admitted his situation was still being resolved in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
The Argentine added: “There’s a protocol that needs to be completed and we will see what the consequence of that is.”
Prior to his positive coronavirus test Klich had dropped to the bench after a dip in form.
The Poland international revealed on Twitter that his symptoms were mild but Mills suggested it is still not risking him.
Asked whether there was a chance Klich would miss out entirely at Elland Road, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Yes.
“Again, everybody is affected differently in these situations. For some, it’s nothing at all. For some, it’s a few days, a week. For some, it drags on longer.
“It’s a constantly moving, fluid situation and you have to keep assessing.
“We all know that Bielsa will not play people who are not 100 per cent fit. They have to be at the top of their game. If they’re not, very rarely is there a chance that he will risk it.”
Klich has featured in all of Leeds’ Premier League games this season and has missed just one league game under Bielsa.
The 30-year-old has 19 goals and provided 19 assists in 136 games across all competitions for the Yorkshire giants.
