Mills: Tottenham stars in line for ‘bonuses’ after ‘huge’ Kane twist
The Tottenham squad will have no issue with Harry Kane if he continues to score goals.
That is according to ex-Premier League and England defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as Kane ended speculation over his future by committing to Spurs.
The England captain tweeted on August 25 that he will be staying at his boyhood club this summer.
Football Insider first revealed on 9 April the 28-year-old wanted to quit Tottenham this summer.
But Kane has now admitted defeat after Manchester City failed to submit a bid deemed acceptable by Daniel Levy.
He made his first start of the season in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night and scored twice as Spurs proceeded to the group stages.
And Mills has claimed as long as he keeps finding the back of the net he will have no issues with his teammates.
“With the players, it will be fine as long as he starts scoring goals, starts pulling his weight and puts a shift in,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“As long as he does what he does at the training ground and in games, the players will not have an issue with it. They’ll be getting bonuses off the back of it, so keeping him is huge in that regard.

“If Harry Kane is doing well, the team will be doing well and players are self-serving, effectively. It’s all about themselves.
“That won’t be a huge issue. The only issue would be is if he has a dip in form or is not doing it in training and gets special treatment. One or two players may get a little bit aggrieved.”
In other news, Nuno Espirito Santo has been tipped to bin two senior Spurs stars by Tuesday night after a Sky Sports update.
