SFA announcement drops major hint about future of Celtic midfielder
COMMENT
Brendan Rodgers has managed to get his way and most of the Celtic players who regularly feature for Scotland are not going on the upcoming international tour of South America.
But four Hoops players have been selected for the trip- Jack Hendry, Ryan Christie, Stuart Armstrong and Lewis Morgan.
The squad was announced a short time ago on the SFA website.
The selection of Morgan makes the most sense, as he as yet to play for the Hoops after ending the season at parent club St Mirren, and as he is one of the most highly-rated Scottish players around at the moment then Rodgers will have no qualms about his taking part in the tour.
The selection of Christie isn’t much of a shock either, as the player has been in good form for Aberdeen, and will presumably get his change to impress the Hoops boss in the summer.

The Hendry selection is odd, and it only seems to make sense if you consider that he won’t be involved in Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final v Motherwell, but it is a bit strange that the player, who is likely to feature in the CL qualifiers will have a shortened summer break.
As for midfielder Armstrong, if this doesn’t signal the end of his time with the Hoops then nothing will. He has been a bit-part player in recent weeks and the one-time POTY nomination, who was a mainstay last season making 47 appearances, could be set for a move in the summer, as his contract runs out at the end of next season and the Bhoys may well decide to cash in.
