Mohamed Salah and Liverpool expected to ‘compromise’ on long-term deal after journalist’s new update – pundit

Kevin Campbell is adamant Liverpool and Mohamed Salah will “come to a compromise” over a new contract.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League striker believes an agreement will be reached with the 29-year-old even if it drags into next summer.

Salah has just over 12 months remaining on his deal at Anfield.

The Egypt international confirmed he will remain with the Reds next season despite his contract situation.

According to The Telegraph‘s Chris Bascombe (13 June), Liverpool remain optimistic that they can convince Salah to sign a new long-term deal.

When asked by Football Insider if he believes the club will eventually bow to the player’s contract demands, Campbell said: “I don’t think it will be a matter of bowing to his demands.

“Both parties have to come to a compromise. They need to conclude on a deal that works for everyone.

“Salah is a big-time player, a marquee player for Liverpool. He was brilliant last season.

“I don’t see it being a problem. I truly believe they will come to an agreement.

“Here is the funny thing, if they don’t come to an agreement and his contract expires, it doesn’t mean he will leave the club.

“At that point, everyone is in the same boat. There would be a different negotiation to be had at that stage. I wouldn’t rule that one out.”
