Mohamed Salah has ‘leverage’ in Liverpool contract talks after latest – pundit
Mohamed Salah has “the leverage” over Liverpool in contract negotiations this year, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, rubbished the idea that the club have improved their bargaining positioning by signing Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz.
Salah has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Anfield.

Negotiations have so far proved unfruitful with the club and player apart in their wage expectations.
According to the Mirror (19 June), the Reds believe the big-money signings of Nunez and Diaz this year have given the club leverage in talks with Salah.
There is said to no longer be a feeling of Armageddon on Merseyside if new terms with Salah are not agreed.
When asked by Football Insider if the club did have leverage in this scenario, Campbell said: “I don’t know about leverage.
“The player has the leverage. The player is the one that has done all of the business. He is adored by the fans.
“No player is bigger than the club but what Mohamed Salah has done at Liverpool is nothing short of remarkable.
“The ball is firmly in the club’s court. They are the ones who are running out of time. Salah has one year left on his contract.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if his contract expires and he still signs for Liverpool. It might go back to that.
“I don’t think the club have the leverage in this one though.”
