Moises Caicedo sends one-word Chelsea message after Aston Villa drama
Chelsea suffered a dramatic defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday (22 February) as their dismal run of form in all competitions continued.
The Blues let a one-goal lead slip at Villa Park as Enzo Fernandez’s ninth-minute goal wasn’t enough to get them any points.
A second-half brace from Marco Asensio saw Unai Emery’s men take all three points, with Marcus Rashford making an impact off the bench to provide both assists.
Once again, the Blues had goalkeeping issues as Filip Jorgensen was at fault for Asensio’s 89th-minute winner as his tame effort slipped underneath him to cause Chelsea heartbreak.
The defeat means Chelsea have now won just three games in their previous 12 matches in all competitions, which is becoming problematic.
Enzo Maresca’s side have been knocked out of the FA Cup during that time, with their only hope of silverware now being the Europa Conference League.

Aston Villa close gap on Chelsea after statement
Chelsea’s latest defeat led to them slipping down to seventh in the table, with Newcastle overtaking them after their win against Nottingham Forest.
Villa also only sit a point behind the Blues now as they continue to pile on the pressure, but Moises Caicedo has assured Chelsea fans the squad is still working as a unit.
He took to Instagram to share a picture of the team at Villa Park with the caption, “together.”

Moises Caicedo struggled to dominate the midfield
Caicedo was at the heart of Chelsea’s midfield against Villa, but the defensive midfielder was unable to keep them at bay.
The Colombia international has been ever present in Maresca’s team this season, featuring in all 26 Premier League games to date.

However, his performance against Villa left a lot to be desired as he failed to make any successful dribbles and didn’t win any of his attempted tackles.
