Kevin Phillips has tipped Alfredo Morelos’ value to “increase handsomely” if he shines for Rangers in the Champions League next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the 2000 European Golden Shoe winner said “a lot of eyes” will be on the 24-year-old next season if Steven Gerrard’s side qualify for the group stages of Europe’s elite competition.
Morelos has been one of the the Gers’ outstanding players for the last four seasons and there has been significant transfer interest in his name as a result of it.
I have been told reliably by a couple of sources that Alfredo Morelos wants to stay on at Rangers for next season.

However, The 4th Official claims the Colombia international wants to remain in Glasgow and compete in the Champions League next season.
Phillips suggested Rangers may look to cash in on Morelos in the summer of 2022 to maximise their profits.
“Morelos’ price tag will increase handsomely if he performs in the Champions League next season,” he told Football Insider.
“Lots of eyes will be on him if he’s playing in the best competition in the world against a higher quality of opposition. It doesn’t matter who you are, your price tag will go up.
“Let’s hope it happens so if he was to move on next year Rangers get good money. It is a win-win for all parties concerned in that case.
“Steven Gerrard will have to manage him carefully again next year. I am sure there will be some bumps along the way but we all know he is a top goalscorer.
“Let’s hope he bangs the goals in next season and then Rangers can make a few quid off him in the summer after.”
