‘Intimidated’ – Morgan Gibbs-White claim made amid Nottingham Forest decision
Nottingham Forest successfully retained Morgan Gibbs-White despite strong transfer advances from Premier League rivals Tottenham.
While the North London club look to rebuild under Thomas Frank, Spurs believed they had triggered Gibbs-White’s release clause, but Forest considered legal action.
The situation was subsequently resolved, as the former Wolves man has signed a new deal at the City Ground, lasting until 2028.
Gibbs-White went on to thank Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis for his fresh contract in a video released by the East Midlands club.

Marinakis accused of intimidating Gibbs-White in Nottingham Forest interview
Marinakis was standing alongside Gibbs-White as the attacking midfielder thanked Nottingham Forest for his contract extension.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on Monday, 28 July, Simon Jordan said: “The fact that he stood there and intimidated the hell out of the player, I think actually controlled the narrative.
“Marinakis is a strong character, like him or loathe him. Some of the things I think I’m quite impressed with him, other things I’m not so impressed with him about.
“He means what he says, and he’s a strong character.”
Gibbs-White developments are a major setback for Tottenham
Football Insider verdict
Gibbs-White was a major asset for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men last season, scoring seven goals and producing eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances.

The 25-year-old is set to play a major role as the City Ground outfit vie to achieve success in Europe next term, while continuing to progress domestically.
Contrastingly, Tottenham have been handed a major blow by Gibbs-White’s Forest contract extension, after finishing just 17th in the Premier League last term.
While Spurs enjoy the services of fellow playmaker James Maddison, the former Wolves man would have added much-needed depth to Frank’s ranks.
Maddison is injury-prone and missed out on the action when Tottenham won the Europa League, while Gibbs-White’s presence would have added key competition.
After taking over from Ange Postecoglou, Frank must rebuild his squad, and Gibbs-White would have been a strong addition in a vital position.
Meanwhile, Spurs have been backed to retain Destiny Udogie in a Tottenham News exclusive despite interest from Italian giants AC Milan.
