Morgan Gibbs-White sends message to Nottingham Forest fans after shock twist
Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has taken to social media to send a message to the fans after his side surprisingly climbed into second in the Premier League table.
The 24-year-old doubled Nottingham Forest’s lead just after the hour mark in their 2-0 win over Everton, sending them into second, eight points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Iliman Ndaiye gave the visitors an early scare but sent his shot well over the crossbar after dribbling past three Forest defenders.
Chris Wood then gave Nuno Espirito Santo’s side the lead in the 15th minute with a cheeky lob over Jordan Pickford after a one-two with Anthony Elanga.
Gibbs-White got in on the act to secure all three points in the 61st minute with a tidy finish after some fancy footwork that caught the Everton defender lacking.
Forest’s time in second might be shortlived, however, as Chelsea have the opportunity to leapfrog both them and London rivals Arsenal should they beat Ipswich on Monday (December 30).

The attacking midfielder has been key for Forest so far this season, starting all 15 of his games across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing three assists in 1175 minutes of action.
Forest, who were tipped to be fighting against relegation this season having finished 17th with 32 points, have already surpassed that tally halfway through the campaign, sitting on 37 points after 19 games.
Gibbs-White took to Instagram after the win over Everton in their last game of 2024, saying: “Seeing off 2024 with a big away W. Let’s goooo.”

Forest are the Premier League’s most in-form side going into 2025 with five consecutive wins as they prepare to travel to Wolves for their first game of the new year in a week (January 6).
They will then host Championship side Luton Town in their first FA Cup game of the season, a trophy they may well be eying.
