Morgan Rogers and Kieran Trippier react to Elliot Anderson at Nottingham Forest
Elliot Anderson has been backed by Morgan Rogers and Kieran Trippier following his latest success with Nottingham Forest this season.
Anderson joined Nottingham Forest last summer after Newcastle were forced to sell the midfielder in order to avoid breaching Profit and Sustainability Regulations.
Since making the move to the City Ground, Anderson has helped his new side enjoy a successful campaign, which continued with an FA Cup win over Ipswich at The City Ground on Monday (3 March).
With the 22-year-old subsequently taking to social media to reflect on that win, his comments have caught the attention of some of his current Premier League rivals.

Aston Villa, Newcastle United stars respond to Elliot Anderson post
It was a tense evening for Nottingham Forest against Ipswich, with the Tractor Boys having gone ahead through George Hirst.
The hosts then equalised when Anthony Elanga’s cross was headed in by Ryan Yates, which was enough to take the game to penalties.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side then went through in the shootout, winning 5-4 with Anderson among those to convert their spot kick.

Matz Sels was the hero for Nottingham Forest, saving Ipswich’s fifth penalty from Jack Taylor to secure the win.
Taking to Instagram after the game, Anderson reacted to that win by writing: “Shootout W. Quarters up next!”
In response, Newcastle full-back Trippier, who played with the midfielder for the Magpies, and Aston Villa attacker Rogers, who has played alongside Anderson for England Under 21s, both liked that post.
Newcastle United may wish they had kept Nottingham Forest ace
Football Insider Verdict
Anderson impressed a number of Newcastle fans when he returned to play at St James’ Park with Nottingham Forest recently.
That will no doubt have added to the frustration around the Magpies about the fact they had to let him go.
It seems that had it not been for a need t avoid punishment over PSR, manager Eddie Howe and co. would have liked to keep the 22-year-old.
With that in mind it will be frustrating for them to now see him performing so well at the same level with a rival in the form of Nottingham Forest.
Indeed, with Newcastle themselves having been knocked out of the FA Cup by Brighton over the weekend, there may well well also be some envy at the fact Anderson himself is still in the competition.
