Morgan Rogers reacts to Tommy Doyle’s Birmingham message after Wolves exit
Morgan Rogers was among those that have reacted to Tommy Doyle after he sealed a move from Wolves to Championship side Birmingham City.
Birmingham sealed an emphatic return to the Championship last season under Chris Davies, as they broke the record for the most points accrued in a single season in English football to finish on 111.
Their transfer business has begun as they prepare for life back in the second-tier, with James Beadle signed on loan from Brighton off the back of his Under-21 European Championships triumph with England.
Football Insider revealed on 27 June that Wolves man Doyle was closing in on a loan move to Birmingham, with Blues seeing him as a key player in their bid to achieve another promotion to the top-flight, and a major coup for a second-tier side.
The former England youth international is now officially a Birmingham player, and he looks raring to go under Davies in what promises to be an exciting season for all at St. Andrews.

Tommy Doyle sends ‘can’t wait’ message to Birmingham fans after confirmed arrival
Birmingham moved to officially announce Doyle as a new signing on social media on Tuesday (2 July), saying: “We are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Tommy Doyle on a season-long loan.
“The 23-year-old joins Blues from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers for the duration of the 2025-26 campaign and will now link up with his new team-mates ahead of next week’s training camp in Portugal.”
Doyle’s move to St. Andrews could be viewed as a step down given that he has been featuring in the Premier League for the last two seasons, but he looks ready to give his all for Birmingham, as he took to Instagram after his announcement to post a picture in his new colours and say: “Motivated for the season ahead. Big goals to achieve. Can’t wait to get started.” with a blue heart emoji.
The 23-year-old’s announcement was reacted to by a number of players, with ex-Man City academy teammates Jeremie Frimpong and Rogers both leaving a like, while Jacob Ramsey, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Max Kilman all followed suit.
Doyle’s post also received replies from current and former Wolves teammates, with Joao Gomes commenting: “I’ll miss you so much lattt,” while Mario Lemina said: “Come on laaaa !!!” and Craig Dawson added: “All the best mate.”
Birmingham’s transfer business could make them Championship promotion contenders
Football Insider verdict
Birmingham spent big to get out of League One last summer, with Jay Stansfield signed for a league record fee and the likes of Willum Willumsson and Christoph Klarer also brought in for substantial figures for a third-tier side.
Their plan to automatically return to the Championship clearly worked to great affect, and now that they are back in the second-tier, it does not look as if they are planning on slowing down anytime soon.
Football Insider revealed on 27 June that Blues are close to sealing the services of former Leicester City and Everton winger Demarai Gray, who came through the academy and played for the club between 2006 and 2016.
Appearances | Goals | Assists |

Not only that, but Birmingham have also opened talks to sign Fenerbahce star Bright Osayi-Samuel, as recently revealed by Football Insider, so they are clearly planning for another crack at promotion in 2025/26.
Whether boss Davies will be able to create a strong enough squad to truly challenge the automatic promotion places remains to be seen, but with Beadle and Doyle through the door and more seemingly on their way, the club certainly look well-placed to have another successful campaign.
