Noel Whelan has ripped into Tottenham players Giovani Lo Celso, Erik Lamela and Sergio Reguilon after they were pictured at a party with West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini over Christmas.
The former Leeds United striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the “stupid” and “disrespectful” Spurs trio should be fined by the club for their actions.
Lo Celso, Lamela, Reguilon and Lanzini were pictured at a gathering with their families over the festive while London was under tier 4 restrictions.

In a statement, Tottenham “strongly condemned” the actions of their players while West Ham said Lanzini had been dealt with internally.
Whelan said the players’ actions could have had serious implications for the club’s seasons.
“We talk about intelligence on the field but what about intelligence off the field,” he told Football Insider.
“It is stupid to do it but it is even stupider to take a picture. Is it not that most ridiculous thing you’ve ever seen?
“They know they are in tier 4, they know they should not be mixing households but these players seem to think it is absolutely fine. You do not abide by different rules because you are a football player.
“These players need to be disciplined. They have broken both club and government rules and should be fined internally.
“They are bringing danger to their teammates and to the season because they could all get Covid because of these three stupid idiots. There could have been a real issue on Tottenham’s hands.
“Certain players think they are above the law but they are not. It is disrespectful.”
